The
International Lodge is a quiet, tranquil oasis located in
the heart of the Palm Desert/Palm Springs area. Fine dining,
shopping, tennis and golf are just moments away from your
fully-appointed, studio suite.
Specializing in extended-stay visitors, the International
Lodge has been providing exceptional service for over 25 years.
Each of our 52 studio suites is individually owned and therefore
unique in ambiance and furnishings. To view some of our suites,
please take the virtual tour.

The International Lodge was originally built in the late 1950's
by the Teamster's union as a gathering place and retreat for
union bosses who were in favor with the legendary Jimmy Hoffa.
It is from this historic association that the International
Lodge is frequently referred to as the "hotel that Jimmy
built".
The International Lodge's storied past includes
tales of a lavish grand opening given at our main pool with
an endless buffet, flowing cocktail bar and extravagant BBQ:
all hosted by Jimmy Hoffa himself. According to eyewitness
accounts, guests of the party were even provided with giant
tri-cycles to journey from building to building during their
grand opening stay. Furthermore, legend has it that the International
Lodge septic system is lined with Teamster silver dollars
and there is also frequent conversation of something far more
interesting that may be buried beneath one of the buildings!
A few years after the opening, the Teamster's
group moved to another property in the valley and the International
Lodge was sold as a hotel. After the sale, the International
Lodge became known as the Best Western International Motor
Lodge. In fact, the IML letters are still etched in each of
the suite's sliding glass doors.
Around 1975, the International Lodge was
converted from a hotel to condominium and the 52 units were
sold to individuals owners.
Today the International Lodge continues to
transform itself from a recognizable mid-century landmark
to weekend retreat to a full-service, extended-stay property.
Come join us at the "hotel that Jimmy
built" where you can share stories with past visitors,
learn more about the historical background and make some new
memories in the desert's premier studio suite property.
